  • positive potential ipsilateral to the direction of eye movement
  • negative potential contralateral to the direction of eye movement The eye is an electric dipole, with an anterior positive charge and posterior negative charge. When the eye moves towards (away from) an electrode, a positive (negative) voltage field is generated at that electrode.
